In evaluation ofthe existing monument, finding an adaption among the features taken from area's vernacular architecture and formation field ofthe work is a principle. In this regard, the new design aims to highlight circular edges of moat surrounding the castle of Mothe Chandeniers, in order to present some tips for maintaining the values of this monument according to today's need.
For this purpose, the design has been developed according to intensive studies, based on a historical review first, and then reinterpreting the existing layout of borders between the castle and features of context.

The main concept coexists and expands layout with an artifact that is emerged as three rings which can be hosted for the functional program and circulations. Like a ruff in paintings of Frans Pourbus the younger, for the Queen of France, the project embraces the castle and gently starts a meaningful dialogue with it.
Present design has been set into three rings. The first ring is main circulation around the castle to connect two different levels in front and behind the castle smoothly. lt is an observatory promenade where people can interact with castle and surrounding nature. The second ring includes theatre, wellness facility, restaurant, shop, villas and boat dock. observatory promenade where people can interact with castle and surrounding nature. The second ring includes theatre, wellness facility, restaurant, shop, villas and boat dock. Half part is in soil, without interfering with main access to the castle on ground level.
And finally the third ring is the other circulation along to the second ring. As in the second ring, half is in soil and the other half is outside. Promenading is possible between two rings and there are some preserved trees in the space. Particularly the three rings are lifted up as they do not interfere the boating access to the moat and canals.
According to the statement, the designing includes two parts. One is preserving the castle by using it as a visitor center, through doing some restoration for exhibition, without any intervention. Also the new design includes theatre, restaurant and boat dock. The Theatre is exactly the same leve! as lodge existing in the castle where works as a stage. And the restaurant has been designed in a part that can work with the castle and field growing vegetables that can be used for traditional French dishes. The boat dock also has been settled in design, as during researches, an old picture showed people riding on wooden boat and going around the canal.
