Kandinsky pavillion | 2023
Burdakovka | built
The entrance pavilion to the Kandinsky cottage community is designed as an architectural accent, opening up the space of the suburban complex. Its laconic wood and glass form blends harmoniously into the natural landscape, creating a sense of lightness and transparency. The architecture is built on a dialogue with the surroundings: horizontal lines emphasize the tranquility of the landscape, while soft lighting lends the structure an expressive quality in the evening.
Particular attention was paid to the stained-glass windows, which were created using a custom technology: they were assembled directly on-site, allowing for a subtle integration of glass and wood structures. This technique gave the facades a unique structure and depth, reflecting the play of light and shadow throughout the day. Transparency creates an effect of openness, while natural materials create a feeling of warmth and comfort from the moment you enter the community.
Functionally, the pavilion unites two zones—administrative and public—linking them with a through passageway that creates an architectural perspective and visually extends the space into the forest. Thus, the building becomes more than just an entrance hall, but a symbol of the village—a space where architecture, nature, and people meet.
